candy colored raindrops
I’m always working on some project or another, and most weeks I talk about what I’m working on Wednesdays as part of Tami’s WIP Wednesday project. You can see past WIP Wednesdays … right this way.
It’s rainy, cold, and very much not like the end of May outside.
But I have a shawl that looks a little like a sea anemone sitting on my desk, and tea that makes the whole room smell like cinnamon.
So I guess it’s not too bad.

I’m THIS close to being finished with by brown and green shawl knit out of Plucky Knitter yarn.
I’m thinking just a couple more rows before the bind off. YAY!
While the colors on this second photo are awful, you can see the garter/stockinette detailing better.
And because of the garter/stockinette patterning, I think the back is just as interesting as the front.
I’ve spent the past week editing away on the Shawl Geometry book. I’m super excited!

Creative energy is up
But what would happen if you* knew that creative energy was up all the flipping time?
*in this post you really means me, and (maybe) you too but only if you want it to
What would you make? What would you create?
What would you put out into the world that didn’t exist before you?
And that wouldn’t exist without you?
What if you thought creative energy was always up?
And that the variable was you* not it?
*me
What if the variable in the equation
you* + inspiration + time = art
*remember, you meaning me, and you if you want it
wasn’t inspiration, or time, or creativity, or ideas, or your muse, or any one of a million other things? But rather the thing that changed and moved and shifted was you?
Then wouldn’t you* become the thing keeping your art from existing?
*me
And with that little bit of fortune cookie inspired musing I’m going to go knit so that I have a better chance of having a knitting based WIP Wednesday for you next week.
