shawls, swatches, sweaters
The pile of yarn from a couple weeks ago, has become a pile of swatches.
I’m planning a straight forward stockinette shawl that’s perfect summer knitting, out of this ball of The Verdant Gryphon’s Eidos.
And I pulled out an ancient unfinished sweater to work on as part of The Self-Made Wardrobe.
binding off and stitch marker liberation
Managed to finish both projects I was working on last week!
Well, almost finish. They still need some finishing, but the knitting is done.
The shawl is all bound off, and waiting to be blocked.
While the green sweater just needs the neck and sleeves finished off. I know the photo looks almost the same as last week, but I promise the shawl is bound off. I just didn’t grab a picture of it. But binding off does mean I got to liberate all my stitch markers. (yay stitch markers!)
I’m starting to get a pile of knitwear that needs finishing, ends woven in and blocking, so hopefully (fingers crossed) I’ll get that done and snap a bunch of finished object photos soon.
PS: The price of Shawl Geometry 1 and Shawl Geometry 3 will be increasing by a few dollars on Friday evening. You can read more details here. Or buy Shawl Geometry 1 ($23) and Shawl Geometry 3 ($17) now at their original prices.
I’ve been knitting sweaters(!!!)
sweaters?!?! what?!?!
yep.
sweaters (plural)
the first is almost done. I just need to finish off the armholes and weave in the ends.
I’m debating about the color though, they’re really not my colors, and it’s doing some funky pooling so… keep the colors? or dye it?
I’m working on the yoke of the second sweater, maybe I’ll finish the yoke this evening?
Love this color though, it’s a beautiful jewely green. The yarn is JaggerSpun’s Zephyr (which I loooooove). They call the color “peacock.”
I’m still plugging along on this shawl. It feels like I’ve been working on this project forever. But I’m oh-so-slowly making progress.
I’m making myself knit at least 2 rows a day on this project, one patterned row and one plain row, which is progress, but the rows have gotten reeeeaaaallllyyyy long.
I’m also working on some charts & written instructions, but I know if I don’t finish this shawl before casting on something new, this shawl will never get done…
