a sweater neckline & granny squares
Each Wednesday, I take stock of the projects I’m working on.
What I’m Working On…
: reworking the neckline of a sweater project – I started this sweater back when it was cold out, and went to work on the sleeves this weekend, only to realize I hated the neckline – so I ripped the old neck, and added a simple rolled stockinette edging. I still need to tighten up the row of blue stitches right underneath it, but so far I’m liking it much better!
: granny squares! – while I know how to crochet, I’ve never been a crocheter, and I had never crochet a granny square before. I figured now is as good a time as any to learn, and I have to say… they’re a lot of fun. (like I need another reason for browsing pinterest…)
A week of planning, rather than making…
Each Wednesday, I take stock of the projects I’m working on.
What I’m Working On…
Crafting wise? – nada!
It’s just been one of those weeks where my crafting mojo has been MIA.
I’ve contemplated making lots of things, like…
: finally putting the buttons on my 2nd archer
: adding sleeves to my crazy colorful slipped stitch sweater
: picking up some white cotton lawn for a 3rd archer button up
: picking up some swishy fabrics for more skirts
: contemplating breaking my “separates = better” rule for a Sallie jumpsuit
I’m sure my crafting mojo will come back eventually – it always does – I just hope it comes back sooner rather than later, because I want new clothes…
a new skirt, an interview & a question
Each Wednesday, I take stock of the projects I’m working on.
What I’m Working on…
: a new skirt! sometimes project just fall together beautifully – this project was one of those projects (…after I tried & miserably failed to make a hoodie out of this fabric…) This maxi skirt is hopefully one of the many that I’ll make & live in this summer.
: if you missed it on Friday, I was interviewed about knitting & knitwear design by Robin Hunter for her blog and you can read the interview here.
: much of this week spent working on the roughest of rough drafts of an ebook about color (understanding color theory, choosing color, combining colors, mixing colors, etc.) and so, I wanted to ask:
what trips you up or what sticking points do you run into, when you’re planning color combinations or working with color (in knitting or anywhere)?
