a new skirt, a new sweater & Me-Made-May – The Self-Made Wardrobe Week 39
The Self-Made Wardrobe is a project where I only wear garments I’ve made.

There’s no thrill, quite like the thrill of new clothing – especially when you can’t just run out and buy it.
This might actually be the first week, (since way back at the beginning of the project), where I finished & wore two new pieces of clothing in one week. And coincidentally, just in time for Me-Made-May!
I’ve never participated Me-Made-May before, since I’m about as much of a joiner as Daria Morgendorffer, and prior to this self-made wardrobe challenge my made-by-me-for-me wardrobe was basically non existent.
This year, I sort of forgot about Me-Made-May, until I was writing today’s post and realized that today is the 1st of May. So I guess, though I’m not “officially” participating, I am kind of participating by default.
Sort of? Maybe? (my internal Daria is feeling very conflicted.)
Either way, I’ll be following along with Me-Made-May on instagram (the hashtag is #mmmay15 if you want to follow along too.) And also, continuing my self-made wardrobe challenge, by wearing only garments made by me (accessories & undergarments don’t count) – and by the time May is over the self-made wardrobe project will have passed day 300 and officially be in the home stretch.
Are you doing Me-Made-May this year? Or have in the past?
I don’t have enough handmade articles of clothing for me made May, and I don’t feel up to the challenge. I’d rather create at my own pace and feel what’s right for me at that time. As my knitting progresses I hope to be wearing what I make more often. Your self made wardrobe project is inspiring – I hope to get there someday.
Thanks Keren! It’s certainly a motivating goal to work towards – though I would definitely suggest taking your time, and getting there at your on pace. It’s as easy to make clothes you hate as it is to buy them, and much more demoralizing. 🙂
Your new pullover is gorgeous!
Thanks Tahnee! I’m obsessed with it!
